High-luminosity Newton on a photographic GoTo mount

The Celestron Newtonian 150/750 Advanced VX This combines a classic f/5 Newtonian with the photographically capable Advanced VX mount. The 150mm mirror captures 459 times more light than the naked eye, and the wide 750mm focal length field of view makes this a true deep-sky machine: nebulae, star clusters, and the brightest galaxies, both visually and in photographs.

The Advanced VX Mount: Built for Photography

The Advanced VX is a German equatorial GoTo mount with a 13.6 kg payload capacity, NexStar+ hand controller with over 40,000 objects, All-Star Polar Alignment for polar alignment without view of Polaris, permanent periodic error correction (PPEC), and an autoguider port. Precisely the foundation serious astrophotography requires. The mount operates on 12V; a powertank is the logical addition.

Visually strong, ready for photography

Visually, up to about 300x is realistically usable for Moon and planet work. Photographically, f/5 is a convenient aperture: relatively short exposures already yield deep shots. Connect a DSLR or astrocamera via a coma corrector with T-adapter, and the autoguider port keeps long exposures on course.

For whom yes, for whom no

For the ambitious beginner in astrophotography who wants to visually observe *and* seriously photograph with one setup. Not for someone who primarily wants to view planets at high magnification; a Schmidt-Cassegrain on the same mount provides more focal length for that.
