If you want to replace the standard focus ring on your Newton with a Feather Touch or another Starlight Instruments focus ring, it must fit securely and straight onto the round tube. This adjustable curved focus ring base for a Newton forms that transition.
Because the base is adjustable, you can adjust it to match the curvature of your tubus. You use it on Newton telescopes and Dobson telescopes where the focus is on the side of the tube.
Before ordering, measure the outer diameter of your tube and see how your current focus lens fits. A different focus lens can change the height above the tube, causing the focal point to shift. Line everything up again after mounting, for example with the Bresser laser collimator, and then follow our steps for collimation.
If you want to tackle the coma of a fast Newton right away, then check out the Feather Touch with built-in Paracorr.
