If the stars in your C6 have a tail at high magnification, the secondary mirror is probably no longer in good condition. Adjustments are made using the screws just before the corrector plate, and you don’t want to use a screwdriver for that. With these Bob’s Knobs for the Celestron C6 f/10, you can adjust the mirror with your fingers, even in the dark.
The set has metric threaded screws. The C6 is one of them. Schmidt-Cassegrains in our range from 6 inch. Check beforehand which thread your telescope has.
Replace the screws one by one so that the mirror remains in place. Then re-align the star on a blurred background and rotate just a little at a time. To prevent the corrector plate from sticking, a Dewband for 6 inch telescopes.
For other 6 inch Schmidt-Cassegrains there is a separate set for 6 inch SCT’s.
