TeleVue TVNP127is – 127/660 Apochromatic Refractor
The TeleVue TVNP127is is an absolute top-class four-lens apochromatic refractor. With an aperture of 127 mm and a focal length of 660 mm (f/5.2) This telescope combines high light grasp with an impressively flat field of view. This model belongs to the TeleVue Imaging System series and is specifically optimized for high-quality astrophotography, without compromising visual performance.
The optical design consists of a Petzval quadruplet, with four lenses arranged in two groups. Thanks to special glass types and advanced correction, the image is virtually completely free of chromatic aberration and field curvature – ideal for modern full-frame camera sensors.

Exceptional sharpness from wide-field to high magnification
With a maximum field of view of approximately 4.4° (depending on the eyepiece or camera), this refractor offers impressive wide-field performance. Large nebulae complexes and expansive star fields are displayed with razor-sharp clarity and rich contrast, with a flat and color-pure image to the brim.
Even at higher magnifications, the optics show their class. The Moon displays fine structures with great contrast and subtle transitions of detail. Planets are depicted sharply and true to life under good seeing conditions, with a resolution of 0.91 arcseconds underscoring the potential of this aperture.
This instrument is particularly suitable for deep-sky photography: the combination of27 mm The fast focal ratio and integrated field correction make separate field flatteners unnecessary.
Image system with professional focusing
The TVNP127is is equipped with a high-quality 2.4" Crayford focuser with 1:6 microfocuser. This is prepared for motorization, allowing you to focus with extreme precision and repeatability – essential for serious astrophotography.
This is an OTA (optical tube assembly) without a mount. For optimal performance, we recommend a stable equatorial mount with sufficient load capacity, especially for photographic use.
The telescope comes with sturdy transport cases and a 2"–2.4" eyepiece adapter.
What we recommend
- Advanced astrophotographers seeking maximum image quality
- Experienced observers who want a premium all-around refractor
- Users with a heavy equatorial mount
- Lovers of both wide-field and detailed observations
What you can see
- The Moon – extremely sharp with fine structures and high contrast
- Planets – clear details at good seeing and appropriate magnification
- Nebulae and galaxies – bright and high-contrast under a dark sky
- Large star fields – perfectly flat image to the edge
