De DeLite 9 mm is een alledaagse middenvergroting. Op de meeste telescopen levert hij een uittredepupil rond 1,5 mm, het gebied waarin het oog het meeste detail oplost.

The DeLite series is designed as a compact version of the Delos: the same principle of a long eye relief, but with a 62-degree field of view and a smaller housing. This makes the series suitable for mounts and binoviewers where weight is a factor.

62 degrees with a long eye relief

The DeLite series is designed as a narrower Ethos field of view with more eye relief. By keeping the apparent field of view at 62 degrees, TeleVue was able to bring the eye relief to 20mm without making the eyepiece unmanageably large.

For eyeglass wearers, that's the difference between seeing the full field of vision and missing a part of it. Even without glasses, you're looking more relaxed because your eye doesn't have to push against the lens.

Waarom de uittredepupil telt

De uittredepupil is de brandpuntsafstand van het oculair gedeeld door de f-verhouding van de telescoop. Bij f/6 levert dit oculair dus 1,5 mm. Rond die waarde is de hemelachtergrond donker en blijft het beeld helder genoeg.

Te grote uittredepupillen maken de achtergrond grijs, te kleine maken het beeld donker en korrelig. Een set oculairs die dat bereik afdekt is bruikbaarder dan een set met alleen extremen.

Interpupillary distance and adjustable eyecup

The eyecup is steplessly adjustable in height and lockable in any position, with index markings so you can find a previously found position. This ensures your eye's pupil is always in the same position relative to the telescope's exit pupil.

That's more than comfort. A misplaced eye causes edge discoloration and shadows in the image. With a fixed, repeatable eye position, that problem is gone, even during long sessions.

In your telescope

In een telescoop met 1200 mm brandpuntsafstand levert dit oculair ongeveer 133x met een waar beeldveld van circa 0,46 graden. Voor je eigen telescoop reken je dat uit met de veldstop: waar beeldveld = 57,3 x veldstop gedeeld door de brandpuntsafstand van de telescoop.

De effectieve veldstop van dit model is 9,7 mm. Dat getal bepaalt hoeveel hemel je werkelijk ziet, niet de brandpuntsafstand alleen.
