ZWO Camera ASI 120MM Mini Mono: the entry into autoguiding and planetary photography

The ASI120MM Mini has been the go-to entry-level camera for autoguiding for years, and for good reason. Weighing in at only 60 grams (comparable to a 1.25-inch eyepiece), it fits into any guide scope or off-axis guider without straining the focuser. At the same time, it's a full-fledged camera for lunar and planetary photography.

The monochrome AR0130CS sensor combines 1280 x 960 pixels of 3.75 micrometers with high light sensitivity (75% quantum efficiency). As a result, you’ll almost always find a suitable guide star for guiding, and with short exposures, you can freeze atmospheric turbulence to capture sharp images of planets.

Hassle-free guiding

Via the ST-4 port, you connect the camera directly to the autoguider port of your mount. In combination with PHD2 or an ASIAIR, the camera corrects your mount's tracking errors, resulting in sharp, round stars during long exposures.

The standard 1.25-inch mount fits any finder scope and off-axis guider. Weighing just 60 grams, it won't add any extra weight to your setup.

Planets and moons with lucky imaging

With 35 images per second at full resolution, the camera is suitable for lucky imaging: thousands of short exposures of which the software stacks the sharpest. This allows you to extract details from the Moon and planets that seem unattainable to the naked eye.

The minimum exposure time of 64 microseconds also makes the camera suitable for bright targets such as the lunar limb or, with a suitable solar filter, the sun.
