ZWO ASI585MC Color: The Modern All-Rounder Without Cooling
The ASI585MC is the camera for those looking for a device that can do it all: planets, moon, sun (with a suitable solar filter), and even deep-sky. The Sony IMX585 sensor delivers 3840 x 2160 pixels (8.3 MP) of 2.9-micrometer pixels, completely free of amplifier glow and with high sensitivity into the near-infrared.
Capture planetar, nebulae, and galaxies at full resolution with up to 47 frames per second shooting, while the glow-free sensor keeps long exposures clean. The passive PCS thermal management cools the sensor down to 15 degrees Celsius cooler than comparable uncooled cameras.

A camera for everything
On a Maksutov or SC at f/10, the 2.9 micrometer pixels sample planetary detail without a Barlow. On a short refractor, the wide 1/1.2-inch field delivers moon and sun discs in one frame and bright deep-sky targets with stacking.
Electronic-assisted astronomy (EAA) also benefits greatly from this sensor.

Modern sensor design
No amplifier glow means clean corners, even with long exposures. The ST-4 port enables guiding and USB 3.0 keeps frame rates high.
Anyone who wants cooling for serious deep-sky series will move up to the ASI585MC Pro within the same family.

For whom yes, for whom no
Hello Who wants to cover planets, the moon, and entry-level deep sky with a camera.
Not who runs long deep-sky series structurally; the Pro version with cooling is the better basis for this.
