If you want to track the darkness of the sky for long nights in a place where you can't keep a laptop, you need a meter that can measure and remember data on its own. The SQM-LU-DL datalogger from Unihedron can do that. You set it up via the computer, after which it measures and stores the brightness of the night sky at fixed intervals.
Later on, you can read the data off via USB. Handy for measuring lines in a dark place, in a natural area, or on your own roof. This way you can see if a spot is dark enough for weak signals. deep-sky objects.
Note down where and how the meter was placed with each set of measurements; this will make it easier to compare the readings later on. If the meter is left outside for an extended period, place it in a weatherproof enclosure.
Without a computer, the meter needs power; for that, there is a battery holder for the SQM-LU-DL. If you want to measure with a filter, there is the 1.25 inch filter adapter for this meter.
