TeleVue Ethos 6mm : 6 mm XWA Oculair: Ethos-oculair met 100 graden beeldveld

De Ethos 6 mm hoort bij de reeks 17 mm, 10 mm en 6 mm, waarin elke stap het beeldveld ongeveer drie keer in oppervlak verkleint. Als hoogste vergroting van die reeks is dit het oculair voor planeten en kleine deep-sky objecten.

Dankzij de dubbele steek past het oculair zowel in een 1,25 inch als in een 2 inch focuser. In 1,25 inch modus is het parfocaal met de andere korte TeleVue-oculairs.

What a 100-degree field of view does

A classic Ploessl has 50 degrees, a Nagler has 82 degrees. At 100 degrees, your eye can no longer take in the field at once: you’re looking around the image instead of *at* it. That’s the effect the Ethos series is known for.

Practically, this also means that objects remain in view for longer. On a manually tracked Dobson, this saves constant readjustment.

Scherpte tot aan de rand

Het optisch ontwerp corrigeert astigmatisme, beeldveldkromming, laterale kleur en vervorming van de hoekvergroting. Ook in een f/4 systeem blijven sterren aan de rand puntvormig.

Bij een parabolische Newton met een korte f-verhouding is coma de beperkende factor. De Paracorr comacorrector lost dat op en verhoogt de vergroting met een factor 1,15.

Viewing Comfort and Dioptrx

The eye relief is 15 mm at every focal length in the series. The height of the foldable eyecup is adjustable, so your eye is always in the same position.

If you wear glasses due to astigmatism, you can replace them with Dioptrx on the eyepiece. This corrects your own cylindrical aberration without the eyeglass lenses costing contrast and eye distance.

In your telescope

In een telescoop met een brandpuntsafstand van 1200 mm levert dit oculair ongeveer 200x met een waar beeldveld van circa 0,50 graden. Je rekent dat voor je eigen telescoop uit met de veldstop: waar beeldveld = 57,3 x veldstop gedeeld door de brandpuntsafstand van de telescoop.

De veldstop van dit model is 10,5 mm. Dat getal, en niet de brandpuntsafstand alleen, bepaalt hoeveel hemel je werkelijk ziet.
