TeleVue Ethos 10mm 100° : Oculair: Ethos-oculair met 100 graden beeldveld

De Ethos 10 mm zit tussen de 13 mm en de 8 mm in en is het middelpunt van de reeks 17, 10 en 6 mm. Voor veel telescopen is dit de brandpuntsafstand die het vaakst in de focuser blijft zitten.

De combinatie van een middelhoge vergroting en 100 graden beeldveld werkt zowel bij bolhopen en sterrenstelsels als bij maandetails.

What a 100-degree field of view does

A classic Ploessl has 50 degrees, a Nagler has 82 degrees. At 100 degrees, your eye can no longer take in the field at once: you’re looking around the image instead of *at* it. That’s the effect the Ethos series is known for.

Practically, this also means that objects remain in view for longer. On a manually tracked Dobson, this saves constant readjustment.

Een veelzijdige middenvergroting

Bij deze brandpuntsafstand is de uittredepupil op de meeste telescopen tussen 1,5 en 2,5 mm. Dat is het gebied waarin het oog het meeste detail oplost en de hemelachtergrond al flink donker is.

Voor deep-sky objecten die net iets te klein zijn voor een 13 mm en net iets te groot voor een 8 mm is dit de logische keuze.

Viewing Comfort and Dioptrx

The eye relief is 15 mm at every focal length in the series. The height of the foldable eyecup is adjustable, so your eye is always in the same position.

If you wear glasses due to astigmatism, you can replace them with Dioptrx on the eyepiece. This corrects your own cylindrical aberration without the eyeglass lenses costing contrast and eye distance.

In your telescope

In een telescoop met een brandpuntsafstand van 1200 mm levert dit oculair ongeveer 120x met een waar beeldveld van circa 0,84 graden. Je rekent dat voor je eigen telescoop uit met de veldstop: waar beeldveld = 57,3 x veldstop gedeeld door de brandpuntsafstand van de telescoop.

De veldstop van dit model is 17,6 mm. Dat getal, en niet de brandpuntsafstand alleen, bepaalt hoeveel hemel je werkelijk ziet.
