Pegasus Astro SmartEye: live deep-sky through your own telescope
The Pegasus Astro SmartEye is a digital eyepiece that transforms any telescope with a 2-inch focuser and a compatible mount into a live deep-sky instrument. Inside, a cooled Sony IMX533 color sensor captures images and stacks them in real-time; you see the result directly through the eyepiece on an OLED microdisplay.
So you're just looking through an eyepiece, but seeing nebulae and galaxies in color and detail that are visually unattainable. No laptop, no post-processing: just looking and seeing.

Image that keeps growing
As you watch, the SmartEye records one frame after another, making the image visibly deeper and richer. The thermoelectric cooling brings the sensor down to 30 degrees Celsius below ambient temperature, drastically reducing noise, especially during long sessions on warm evenings.

A real ocular sensation
The 2560 x 2560-pixel (3500 ppi) OLEDoS microdisplay displays a circular image with a 90-degree field of view, with no visible pixels. With a 12-mm eye relief and a diopter adjustment range of +1 to -5, virtually everyone can see clearly, even without glasses.

SkySafari built-in
The SmartEye works with SkySafari via dual-band Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5, offering object information, telescope control, and the ability to share the live view with bystanders' phones and tablets.

Also a full-fledged astro camera
In addition to viewing, the SmartEye records footage, including RAW FITS files for those who want to process it themselves. The metal, splash-proof housing and a single USB-C cable for power and data simplify setup in the field; a robust 30W power bank is sufficient.
Included
- SmartEye Digital Eyepiece (2 inch)
- Protective hard case
Featured accessories
The SmartEye requires a tracking mount (alt-azimuth or equatorial with sidereal tracking) and a 30W USB-C power supply. A power bank with sufficient capacity is therefore the first accessory for field use.
For whom yes and for whom no
- ✓ Observers who want to see live deep-sky in color through their own telescope
- ✓ Star Clubs and Public Nights: The image is shared directly to bystanders' phones
- ✗ Telescopes without subsequent mounts: without tracking, the SmartEye cannot stack
- ✗ Anyone who wants to rely solely on traditional visual observation without electronics
