Optolong L-Synergy narrowband filter 2 inch for night photography with a color camera

Shooting emission nebulae with a color camera or DSLR from a neighborhood with streetlights is difficult because the scattered light washes out your shots. The Optolong L-Synergy is a narrowband filter from the L-series, designed for color cameras and DSLRs. It lets through mostly the light from glowing gas in the nebulae and blocks out much of the light outside of them.

The 2 inch version screws on a filter tray or filter holder, or on a field marker with filter wire or a reducer with a 2 inch filter thread.

Before ordering, check which size you need. For galaxies and reflection nebulae, a narrowband filter is not the right choice, as it emits light across the entire spectrum. Never photograph with it towards the sun.
