Optolong Filters L-Para 2″ is a specialized correction filter developed for use with fast telescopes and astrographs. For telescopes with low f-values (f/2-f/3), the pass curves of many filters shift, which can cause color aberrations and blur. The L-Para filter corrects these shifts and restores the optimal transmission of narrowband and wideband filters, so your astrophotos maintain proper color and sharpness.
The filter is mainly used in combination with other Optolong filters such as the L-eXtreme, L-eNhance or L-Ultimate. By placing it before these filters, the L-Para ensures that the transmission peaks are again exactly at the desired wavelengths (e.g., H-alpha and OIII). This provides a significantly higher signal-to-noise ratio and prevents the loss of valuable signal in high-speed optical systems.
Made of high-quality optical glass and equipped with a multiple anti-reflection coating, the L-Para guarantees maximum light transmission without unwanted reflections. The robust 2″ aluminum mount makes the filter suitable for virtually all filter wheels and 2″ accessories.
Observation goals
This filter is ideal for astrophotographers working with fast systems such as RASA, HyperStar or other f/2-f/3 telescopes. The L-Para filter allows narrowband and wideband filters to function correctly and prevents emission lines from shifting. For visual observation, this filter is not intended; it is specifically designed for professional and advanced astrophotography.
