Omegon UV/IR Cut-Off Filter 1.25" is an indispensable accessory for astrophotography with color cameras without built-in UV/IR blocking. Many optical systems - especially refractors and camera lenses - allow ultraviolet (UV) and infrared (IR) light to pass through unobstructed. But these wavelengths are not focused on the same plane as visible light, leading to blur, color shifts or blurry stars.
This filter blocks both UV light (below ~400 nm) and IR radiation (above ~700 nm), while allowing the full visible spectrum to pass through. This allows you to maintain true-to-life colors, sharper details and better focus in your images. The filter is therefore ideal for use with CCD and CMOS cameras, especially when photographing with APO refractors or fast lenses.
The 1.25" version is compatible with any standard eyepiece, camera adapter, or filter wheel. The optical glass is multi-coated for maximum transmission in the usable range and minimum reflections.
