Omegon Super Plössl 40 mm Eyepiece (1.25 inch): five-element lens for the lowest magnification
The Omegon Super Plössl 40 mm builds on the classic Plössl design with five lens elements: a slightly wider field of view, blackened lens edges, and a sleeker finish. It features the longest 1.25-inch eyepiece in the series, which is particularly useful on telescopes with a long eyepiece focus distance.
On a Schmidt-Cassegrain with a 2000 mm brand focal length, a 40 mm objective lens provides 50x magnification. The actual field of view is no larger than it would be at 32 mm, because the 1.25-inch mount limits the edge of the field; you gain in brightness and viewing comfort.

Features
- Five multi-coated lens elements: a clear step up from standard Kellner and entry-level eyepieces
- Apparent field of view of 45 degrees (limited by the 1.25-inch barrel)
- Blackened lens edges for a dark background and high contrast
- Black anodized housing with rubber eyepiece
- Filter thread for moon and color filters (1.25 inch)
Compatibility
Fits any telescope with a 1.25-inch focuser: Newtonians, Dobsons, refractors, Maksutovs, and Schmidt-Cassegrains. Not suitable for smart telescopes without interchangeable eyepieces.
