Omegon Pro Veil OIII Filter 3nm 2 inch: 3 nm transmission at the oxygen lines
This filter cuts the passband back to 3 nanometers around the emission lines of doubly ionized oxygen. It acts like a spotlight on nebulae: interfering light is blocked, only the oxygen light gets through.
Pro Veil is Omegon's narrow-band series for astrophotography. Each filter comes in a 2-inch aluminum mount with a sturdy protective case.

More contrast, immediately visible
The filter blocks both street lighting and natural skyglow. The background remains dark and nebula structures stand out sharply, even in captures from a light-polluted environment.

The trade-off compared to 7 nm
The narrower band results in a lower background signal, but also lets through less stray light. With a fast lens, that’s a good trade-off; with a long brand aspect ratio, it requires merk more exposure time.

Working consistently
If you are building an SHO set, choose the same bandwidth for all channels. That keeps the exposure times per channel comparable and makes combining them easier.
