Omegon Pro Veil H-Alpha OIII Duoband Filter 7nm 2 inch: two channels in one filter
This filter passes two narrow bands simultaneously: H-alpha and OIII. This allows you to capture both channels in a single exposure, even with a color camera. Where street lighting normally washes out faint details, only the light that truly matters gets through.
Pro Veil is Omegon's narrow-band series for astrophotography. Each filter comes in a 2-inch aluminum mount with a sturdy protective case.

Why dual band
Using separate narrowband filters requires a monochrome camera and multiple sessions per object. A dual-band filter captures the red hydrogen signal and the blue-green oxygen signal all at once, making it the fastest route to a nebula image for color cameras.

Filter dish for contrast
Emission nebulae emit their light in specific bands. This filter transmits precisely those wavelengths and blocks the interfering artificial light in between. This leaves you with a dark background while preserving the characteristic nebula colors.

For which camera
A dual-band filter works best with a cooled or uncooled color camera. If you work with a monochrome camera, separate H-alpha and OIII filters provide more control over the ratio between the channels.
