Omegon Pro H-Beta Filter 1.25″ is a highly specialized narrowband filter that focuses on one specific emission line: the H-beta spectrum around 486 nanometers. This wavelength is emitted by hydrogen atoms in extremely tenuous nebular structures. Many of these objects are barely visible visually - unless you use the right filter.
The H-Beta filter makes visible objects that would otherwise remain undetectable, such as the Horsehead Nebula (IC 434), the California Nebula (NGC 1499) or the Coalsack in the Southern Hemisphere. This filter blocks virtually all other wavelengths, including light pollution, moonlight and broad portions of the visible spectrum. The result is an extremely dark image in which only hydrogen light breaks through.
The 1.25″ version is compatible with all common eyepieces. For best results, use is recommended in locations with minimal light pollution as well as with telescopes from about 200 mm aperture, as the image is darker than with OIII or UHC filters. Patience and darkness are rewarded here with unique nebular structures that cannot be seen with any other filter.
Advantages

✓ Makes extremely faint nebulae visible such as the California and Horsehead Nebulae
✓ Blocks virtually all other forms of light and pollution
✓ Ideal for visual deep-sky observation of rare objects
✓ Fits all 1.25″ eyepieces
