The Omegon Premium Barlow Lens 5x uses an apochromatic design with four lenses. Color aberrations are thus virtually completely corrected: the image remains sharp and color-pure, even at the high magnifications for which a Barlow is actually intended. Four lenses, apochromatically corrected

Where standard Barlows with two or three lenses show residual color on bright edges, the four-element apochromatic design corrects this almost completely. The multi-coating on all glass surfaces keeps light transmission high.

The compression ring grips your eyepiece or camera all around, without the scratch of a single set screw. Important for photography, where every tilt becomes visible.

Who is the 5x factor for?

A 5x factor is rarely useful for visual use: on most telescopes you will get well beyond the usable magnification. For planet photography with a fast Newton around f/4 to f/5, it is ideal: the effective f-ratio then falls exactly within the optimal range for planet cameras. Be honest with yourself about the intended use before choosing 5x.
