Omegon Premium Barlow Lens 4x Apochromatic (1.25 inch): apochromatic magnification without color distortion

The Omegon Premium Barlow Lens 4x uses an apochromatic design with four lenses. Color aberrations are thus virtually completely corrected: the image remains sharp and color-pure, even at the high magnifications for which a Barlow is actually used. Planet photographers especially benefit from this: the planetary disk is four times as large on the sensor.

Four lenses, apochromatically corrected

Where standard Barlows with two or three lenses show residual color on bright edges, the four-element apochromatic design corrects this almost completely. The multi-coating on all glass surfaces keeps light transmission high.

Compression

The compression ring grips your eyepiece or camera all around, without the scratch of a single set screw. Important for photography, where every tilt becomes visible.

Who is the 4x factor for?

Visually, 4x is only meaningful on telescopes with short focal lengths and wide apertures; the rule of thumb of 2x the aperture in millimeters still applies. For planet photography with fast telescopes, this is actually the classic choice to achieve the ideal image scale.
