Omegon OIII nebula filter 2 inch: OIII contrast for wide-angle eyepieces

The 2-inch version of the Omegon OIII filter, intended for larger eyepieces and telescopes with a 2-inch light path.

Highly selective permeability

The filter only transmits the emission lines of doubly ionized oxygen, around 496 and 501 nanometers. These wavelengths are predominantly present in many planetary nebulae and supernova remnants.

Dark background, clear structure

Street lighting, moonlight, and a large portion of starlight are blocked. The background sky therefore becomes very dark, and nebula structures light up. Think of the fine filaments in the Veil Nebula or the edges of the Helix Nebula, even under light pollution.

Featured accessories

Combine the filter with a 2-inch wide-angle eyepiece for the full field of view on extended nebulae. In a 2-inch filter wheel, you can quickly switch between OIII and UHC.
