Omegon Hybrid Crayford Focuser SC Dual Speed 2 inch: An end to mirror shift in your Schmidt-Cassegrain

A Schmidt-Cassegrain focuses by moving the primary mirror over the baffle. This works, but has a known drawback: when reversing the direction of rotation, the mirror tilts slightly and the image shifts. This is annoying for visual work and costs you a shot in astrophotography.

This focuser solves that by reversing the task distribution. You only use the main mirror for the coarse adjustment and then lock it. You do the fine focusing with the Crayford, which no longer involves a mirror.

8 kg load capacity

With 8 kg of vertical load capacity, this focuser can lift complete photographic setups. A filter wheel, off-axis guider, and camera in a row are no problem.

The housing is solidly built with a length of 103 mm and a diameter of 76 mm. The weight of 1040 g corresponds to that stability.

Fine-tuning of 10:1

The 10:1 reduction allows for very small adjustments. The 25 mm focusing travel is intentionally limited: you only need to cover the last bit, the main mirror handles the coarse adjustment.

Rotatable for field of view selection

The connection is rotatable, allowing you to turn the camera to the desired angle without having to loosen the entire setup. This saves a lot of hassle when framing elongated objects.

The ring clamp holds heavy accessories all around instead of with a single screw.
