Omegon Dewlint 12 cm for Small Capture Mirrors: the forgotten mirror
A dew strap works differently than a dew shield. Instead of shielding the optics, it holds the glass edge a few degrees above the dew point. This prevents water vapor from condensing on it, even at high humidity.
With a Newton, the viewfinder is often the first thing to get covered: it hangs in the open tube, directly exposed to the night sky. A dew cap doesn’t help there. This short strip wraps around the viewfinder holder and keeps the viewfinder just above the dew point.

Applying and adjusting
Wrap the strap around the eyepiece, lens, or tube. The flexible design conforms to the curve, and the hook-and-loop closure secures it in place. A controller allows for stepless power adjustment.
Featured accessories
All LED strips in this series operate at 12V and have an RCA connector. For stepless dimming, use a controller; without a controller, the strip always runs at full power.
