Omegon Amici prism 90° 2 inch turns your telescope into a multifunctional instrument for both astronomy and nature observation. The prism fully corrects the image: upright as well as left-right correct. That means you view the moon or star fields in their natural orientation, and during the day you use your telescope just as well for birds, landscapes or shipping.

The 90° viewing angle makes observing comfortable even when objects are high above the horizon. The high-quality optics feature multicoating, which minimizes reflections and increases light transmission. So you see more contrast and clarity - an advantage in both day and night observation.

The solid housing is built for use with heavy-duty 2” eyepieces and offers a ring clamp that secures your eyepieces securely and scratch-free. The integrated 2” filter thread allows you to easily use lunar, color or fog filters. Compatible with all refractors, Schmidt-Cassegrains and Maksutovs with a 2” focuser, this prism gives you maximum flexibility for both 2” and possibly 1.25” eyepieces with adapter.

For astronomical use, this Amici prism is ideal at low and medium magnifications. At high magnifications, a subtle diffraction line may appear around bright stars; therefore, for planetary details, a classic star diagonal is better suited.

Application

Omegon Amici prism 90° 2 inch is perfect for terrestrial observations such as birds, nature and shipping. Also useful for the moon and wide star fields for a naturally oriented image. For deep-sky and high magnifications, a regular diagonal remains the better choice.
