Omegon Color Filter Red Light #23A 1.25 inch: pools and dust storms on Mars

This light-red color filter is intended for observing Mars and other planets where strong contrast is desired. The red tint makes structures more clearly visible: polar caps, dust storms, and dark areas on the surface of Mars.

Light red dims less strongly than the deeper #25 red, making it also usable on medium-sized telescopes. At low moon phases, the filter helps prevent glare.

Compatibility

Threads into any 1.25-inch eyepiece. Color filters work best on a telescope with an aperture of about 100 mm or larger: the filter absorbs light, and the aperture needs to be able to compensate for that.
