Omegon Light Blue Color Filter #82A 2-inch: subtle contrast without loss of light

This light blue color filter is the subtlest of the range. On Jupiter and Saturn, it enhances the contrast in cloud belts and makes small storm regions more visible. On Mars, it helps to distinguish polar caps and hazes around the limb of the planet.

Because the #82A filter barely dims the image, the planet's brightness is preserved. That is precisely why this filter is often combined with another color filter or with a lunar filter.

Compatibility

For telescopes with a 2-inch light path. Also suitable for smaller apertures. Color filters work best on a telescope with an aperture of approximately 100 mm or more: the filter reduces light, and the aperture must be able to compensate for that.
