iOptron iAFS3 / M117 Adapter: telescope adapter for the iAFS3
With this aluminum adapter, you can mount the iOptron iAFS3 automatic focuser on telescopes with an M117x1 thread, such as the GSO RC10, RC12, RC14, and RC16. The adapter forms the rigid, play-free transition between the telescope and the focuser. The connection on the telescope side is M117x1.
A rigid coupling is essential for an autofocusser: any play translates into focus shift as soon as the tube changes position.
Light, stiff and ready to mount
Aluminum is lightweight and dimensionally stable: the adapter adds virtually no weight to the rear of the tube and keeps the focuser perfectly aligned with the optical axis. Installation is simply screwing it on; no modifications to the telescope are necessary.
