Hotech SCA 1.25-inch Laser Collimator: Collimating from a Beat Start
If stars remain blurry while the sky is clear, then collimation is the first suspect. The Hotech SCA laser collimator aligns the mirrors of your Newtonian telescope quickly and reliably, with a principal advantage over standard laser collimators: the patented SCA system (Self-Centering Adapter).
This version has a point laser and fits in any 1.25 inch focuser.







Why SCA Makes a Difference
A standard laser collimator is secured with a set screw, causing it to tilt minimally in the focuser. This means the laser itself is already misaligned, and you are collating to an incorrect starting point. The SCA adapter secures the collimator with an expanding rubber ring, centering it precisely and perpendicularly. What you align afterward is truly accurate.

That's how it works
Place the collimator in the focuser, point the laser dot via the secondary mirror to the center of the primary mirror, and then adjust the primary mirror until the beam returns onto itself. The entire process takes a few minutes after some practice and can be repeated each session.

The laser is calibrated, the housing is made of metal and the bright red dot is also clearly visible on the mirror marking in the dark.
