On the stands or during a walk, you want to be able to see immediately, without having to focus first. With the Bushnell Spectator Sport 10×40, that’s not necessary: thanks to Permafocus, the image is sharp from a certain distance right away, even when you quickly move from one point to another.
Thanks to the roof prism lenses, it is straight and slim in shape. Ten times magnification with lenses of 40 mm gives a exit pupil of 4 mm, perfect for day use. You’ll find it between all our binoculars.
If you want to see things at close range, such as butterflies or insects, a viewfinder with normal focus is more convenient. If you wear glasses, then look through the eyepieces at the lowest setting so that you can see the entire image.
If you want to be able to look further ahead, then the Spectator Sport 12×50 with porro prisms more magnification and larger lenses. For birds a 10×42 with normal focusing more convenient.
