Seeing craters on the moon more clearly or getting closer to distant details in the landscape with a regular 10×50 scope is only possible with a half-zoom model. The Bushnell PowerView 2.0 20×50 magnifies twenty times and features lenses of 50 mm, in an aluminum housing with multi-coated optics (MC).
With a 20x magnification, a tripod is actually necessary, because the image moves too much when handheld. You then need an adapter that fits into the tripod socket of the viewer, like The Bushnell adapter with quick coupling, and a tripod as The Bushnell Titanium tripod.
Please note that the field of view is smaller and the exit pupil is 2.5 mm, which makes the image appear slightly darker than with a viewer with a lower magnification. Look at the moon when it is not full; you will see more detail along the edge of the shadow.
If you want even more light and magnification on a tripod, check out our Giant binoculars for use on a tripod.
