Baader AstroSolar ASTF Solar Filter 240 mm: Safely Observe the Sun in White Light
With this objective solar filter, you can turn your telescope into a safe white-light solar telescope. The AstroSolar Safety Film with density OD 5.0 reduces sunlight to a safe level for both visual observation and photography. Sunspots, faculae, and granulation are displayed razor-sharp and in neutral color.
The foil is mounted stress-free in a temperature-compensated mount. This maintains optical quality at all external temperatures and prevents astigmatism from material stress.

Safely mounted
Adjustable centering bolts with rubber profiles securely clamp the filter onto the front of the telescope tube or dew shield. Included safety straps with adhesive pads prevent the filter from ever being blown off or falling off accidentally. Check the film for damage before each use.

For visual and photographic use
Unlike the photographic BDSF version (OD 3.8), this ASTF filter with OD 5.0 is suitable for safely observing the sun through the eyepiece. It also provides neutral, high-contrast images for solar photography with a camera or smartphone.
Featured accessories
A sun finder makes aiming at the sun easy and safe. Always use the filter in conjunction with a covered or removed viewfinder.
