If you regularly switch between the Hyperstar and the regular setup of your Schmidt-Cassegrain, you will often also be using the collimation system. With Bob’s Knobs for an 8-inch SCT with Hyperstar, you no longer need any tools for that, because you turn the knobs instead of using small screws.
With Hyperstar, you remove the secondary mirror from a suitable SCT and install a camera in front, so you can take photos very quickly. This setup works with cameras for astrophotography. Check beforehand whether your telescope is compatible with Hyperstar and which version you have.
When adjusting, always turn a small amount at a time. After collimation, you set the focus. A help in this is a Bahtinov mask tailored to your tube; First measure the outer diameter of your tube and see if the mask fits while the Hyperstar camera is positioned in front.
If you use your 8-inch model only in the normal configuration, there is also a 8 inch set with three screws.
