Omegon Pro Kolossus Mounting Kit with Half-Post and Aluminium Tripod Stand: parallelogram mounting complete with post and tripod
The Kolossus bundle provides the assembly with the two components you always need in practice: the 20 cm semi-pole and the stainless steel tripod. The semi-pole supports the arm above the tripod legs, while the steel tripod holds the entire assembly in place when the viewer is hanging outside the axis.
Unpacking, assembling, balancing, and watching. Nothing else is involved.
Operation
A three-part parallelogram arm that rotates 360 degrees and is balanced by two 3.7 kg counterweights. As a result, the viewer moves almost weightlessly: you grab the handles, bring it to your eyes, and let go. It stays in place.
The big advantage over a fork mount: the viewer also moves up and down without changing direction. Watching while sitting, standing, or lying in a garden chair with the same adjustment. Load capacity 5 kg, so up to and including a 20×80 or an Argus 25×100.
Tripod and half-arch
The stainless steel tripod is intended for telescope mounts and does not vibrate. The 20 cm semi-column gives the arm the space to lower itself under the horizontal position without touching the legs. Both are included with every Kolossus; purchased separately they cost more than the difference with the bare assembly.
For which viewers
Nightstar 15×70 and 20×80, Argus 11×70 to 25×100, Brightsky 7×50 to 15×70 and the 22×85 are on the edge of their carrying capacity. The Brightsky 26×82 and 30×100 are on the Neptune.
