Omegon Dew Ribbon 20cm - Keep your optics clear all night
A fogged telescope or viewfinder can quickly ruin your observation. Once condensation appears on lenses or Schmidt plates, your image becomes dull and details disappear. It doesn't have to. The Omegon dew tape keeps your optics free of dew. So you'll see stars, planets and nebulae sharp and clear, all night long.
Quick to use and flexible
Wrap the dew tape around your viewfinder or eyepiece. The flexible design always fits snugly. Velcro closure keeps the tape securely in place. Compact and convenient - ready for immediate observation.

Heats smartly and economically
Connect the dew tape to a 12 V DC power source. It heats your optics only a few degrees above ambient temperature, just enough to prevent dew formation. It consumes little power, so your battery will last longer. You can also connect it to a pulse controller to save power and manage multiple ribbons at once.
Why it works
Condensation forms when your optics cool and moisture from the air hits them - just like glasses on a cold night. The dew tape keeps the temperature slightly higher so water droplets don't form. While others are already packing up, you can continue observing.

Practical details
The heating element is 20 mm wide and sits securely on the inside of the strap. The band itself is 44 mm wide, black on the outside and red inside, and made of sturdy cordura/nylon. The cable is 1 m long and connects with an RCA plug.
