Omegon Pro Coma Corrector 3 inch 0.85x: full-frame correction for fast Newtonians

This is the top corrector in the Omegon range: a quadruplet lens system in a 3-inch housing that corrects coma while simultaneously reducing the focal length by a factor of 0.85. An f/4 Newtonian works at f/3.4 behind it, producing round stars across a 44 mm illumination circle.

That 44 mm is the key: full-frame sensors are fully and corrected illuminated, whereas 2-inch correctors already vignette the corners. For anyone combining a fast Newtonian with a large sensor, this is the corrector that makes that possible.

Quadruplet for f/3 to f/6

Four lens elements correct coma and field curvature across the full range from f/3 to f/6. Even extremely fast astrographs thus remain within specification.

Connections for heavy chains

The telescope side is a 3-inch thread (82 x 1); the camera side is M54 internal, with additional M76 external and M68 internal threads for large camera adapters and rotating systems. Everything is threaded, nothing is clamped.

Standard 55 mm back focus

The 55 mm backfocus follows the industry standard, allowing common camera and filter wheel combinations to fit without calculation.
