ZWO ASI664MC: wider field and less noise for moon and planets
The ASI664MC builds upon the popular ASI662MC and expands precisely what planetary and lunar photographers desire: the sensor area grows to 7.84 x 4.45 mm with 2704 x 1536 pixels (4.15 MP), while the readout noise drops to just 0.46 electrons.
The larger field makes framing the moon more comfortable and keeps planets in view longer with less precise tracking. The back-illuminated Sony IMX664 sensor remains completely free of amplifier glow, even during longer exposures or stacking.

Faster and more stable
With 95 frames per second and a built-in 256 MB DDR3 buffer, even long recording sequences run stably via USB 3.0 without dropped frames. Exactly what lucky imaging and real-time applications require.
The 2.9-micrometer pixels sample the maximum detail on common planetary setups: from the cloud belts on Jupiter to crater structures on the Moon.

Widely applicable
Besides the moon and planets, the camera is well-suited for solar imaging (exclusively with a safe solar filter), compact deep-sky objects, infrared imaging in moderate seeing, and electronically assisted astronomy.
Via the integrated ST-4 interface, the camera can also function as an autoguider if desired. At 126 grams, it fits on any mount.

For whom yes, for whom no
Hello planetary and lunar imagers looking for a larger field of view and the lowest noise in this segment.
Not who mainly photographs deep-sky; for that, a cooled camera with a larger sensor makes more sense.
