ZWO UV/IR Blocking Filter 1.25 inch: Sharper Stars and Pure Colors

Many color CMOS cameras are sensitive to ultraviolet and infrared light. That sounds like an advantage, but UV and IR fall outside the focusing range of most lenses and cause color casts and halos around stars. This UV/IR block filter lets only the visible spectrum pass and solves that in one go: sharper star edges and a natural color balance.

When do you use this filter

• For color cameras without a built-in IR-cut filter, such as the ASI294MC, ASI533MC, and ASI585MC
• With refractors and lenses that are not fully apochromatically corrected
• As an additional safety filter for solar photography with solar film or a Herschel prism

Compatibility

Fits all 1.25-inch focusers, filter holders, and filter wheels. Suitable for photography and visual use.
