ZWO ASI 2400MC Pro Color: full-frame dynamics for widefield deep-sky

The ASI2400MC Pro is the full-frame color specialist for widefield deep-sky. The Sony IMX410 sensor (36 x 24 mm, 24 MP) features large 5.94-micrometer pixels and a giant full well of 100,000 electrons: bright stars do not blow out while faint nebulosity continues to show detail.

The active cooling goes down to 35 degrees Celsius below ambient temperature and the DDR3 buffer memory keeps the USB 3.0 transfer stable. With the 14-bit readout, you get smooth tonal transitions from nebulae and galaxies.

Large pixels on large glass

The 5.94 micrometer pixels capture a lot of signal per exposure and pair excellently with fast astrographs and longer focal lengths where smaller pixels would oversample. Full-frame plus large pixels: the classic recipe for rich, deep widefields.

The full 43 mm image field requires a corrector with a large image circle; the M54 connection fits modern optical trains.

Color without compromise

For those who find the mono workflow too laborious yet want top quality: with a dual-band filter in a 2-inch filter drawer, you can photograph emission nebulae from a light-polluted area, in a single channel.

The cooling requires a 12-volt power supply; dark libraries remain reusable thanks to the stable temperature.
