A small screwdriver on the front of the tube, at night, with your nose almost on the corrector plate: that’s not how you align a Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope. These adjustment screws for an 8-inch SCT from Bob’s Knobs are plastic buttons that replace the original screws on the secondary mirror. You just turn them with your fingers.
The set fits on 8 inch Schmidt-Cassegrain telescopes with f/10, the secondary holder has three screws. Before you measure, count how many screws you see in the center of the corrector plate.
Replace them one by one; then the mirror will remain in place. Then set the collimation to a bright star at high magnification. If the telescope is often set up, then a Protective case for an 8 inch SCT dust and dirt outside.
If you see six screws, take the set for six screws.
