Sky-Watcher Laser Collimator: Get your Newtonian telescope sharp in minutes
A Newtonian telescope only produces sharp, high-contrast images if the mirrors are precisely aligned, and it is precisely this alignment that shifts due to transportation and temperature fluctuations. This red collimation laser (1 mW) makes readjustment a routine task: place the laser in the focuser, aim the dot at the merk mark on the primary mirror using the adjustment screws, and you’re done.
Because you work with a laser even in the dark, you just collimate in the field, right before observation. Combine with a Cheshire eyepiece to check the secondary mirror's position: together they cover complete collimation.
