You don't just put a 14- or 16-inch telescope inside to dry it if the corrector plate gets covered. Then your evening is usually over. With a dewband on your 14-inch telescope, you prevent that: this Astrozap dewband gives off just enough heat to keep the front glass above the dew point.
The band is made for telescopes of 14 and 16 inches, such as large Schmidt-Cassegrains. You attach it to the tube, near the front optics. Measure the outer diameter of your tube at that point, so you are sure it will fit. For more solutions against fogging, see dew prevention for telescopes.
Connect the band to a fog controller, such as the Two-channel controller from Astrozap, So you can adjust the heat to suit the evening. Turn on the heating as soon as you start, not when the glass is already wet. With a dew cap on, the band has the most effect.
For a 12 inch telescope, there is the 305 mm width belt.
