Omegon Magnetic Cover for Seestar S30: aluminum protection that clicks into place

Where most dust caps are made of plastic, this version is made of aluminum. The fact that it is made of aluminum is what makes it different from other dust caps: it is not a clamp, but a magnet. You hold it next to the lens and it pulls itself into place.

This works well in the dark, because you don't have to search for the correct position. And because there is no clamping force on the housing, the edge of the lens does not wear out after hundreds of times of setting it up.

Compatibility

This hood fits the Seestar S30. If you also use the Omegon adapter from S30 to M48, you can screw 2-inch filters or extenders onto your Seestar. An extender then functions as a rain hood, and the hood then fits back on.
