Omegon Premium Skylum Filter 1.25 inch: more contrast without a dark image
The Skylum is a contrast filter that enhances red and blue hues. This makes Jupiter's cloud bands more visible and you can see more structure on Mars, while the image remains natural-looking.
Unlike a narrowband filter, the Skylum hardly attenuates the image. It makes the sky background slightly darker and reduces overexposure of bright planets, which also makes it useful on smaller telescopes. It also provides extra contrast when observing the narrow moon phases and clear clouds.

Features
- Strengthens red and blue parts of the spectrum
- High light transmission, so little shading
- Does the sky background get darker?
- Standard 1.25 inch thread
Compatibility
Widely usable on the Moon, planets, and bright deep-sky objects. For targeted suppression of street lighting, a UHC or CLS filter is more effective.
