ZWO EFW Mini 5x1.25 inch Filter Wheel: The Compact Wheel for the 1.25 inch Mono Workflow

The EFW Mini is the entry-level point for automated filter changing: five positions for 1.25-inch or 31 mm filters in a housing that is only 20 mm thick and weighs 300 grams. The silent stepper motor changes filters without touching the setup and without disturbing the focus.

Because the filters are only 10mm from the sensor, the image remains free of vignetting, even with extremely fast optics down to f/2. Power and control are supplied via a USB 2.0 cable; a separate power supply is not needed.

Small wheel, complete workflow

Five positions cover LRGB plus a narrowband filter, or three narrowband channels with luminance and spare. Exactly enough for the complete mono workflow on cameras with sensors up to 4/3 format.

The T2 connection (M42 x 0.75) is on both sides; a 1.25 inch barrel is included for mounting in a focuser.

At home in the ecosystem

The wheel is recognized by ASIAIR, NINA, and all common capture software, and works directly with ASI monochrome cameras. Filter changes are performed on command or fully automatically within a capture plan.

With its low weight, this is also the logical choice for travel setups.
