If you set your Meade SN8 between two sessions, dust and moisture will quickly accumulate on the corrector plate and the mirrors. With the TG-N8 from Telegizmos, you have a cover for the Meade SN8 on an LXD 55 or LXD 75 mount, so you can leave the setup in place.
The SN8 is an 8 inch Schmidt-Newton, a catadioptric telescope with a corrector plate on the front. Meade introduced it on the LXD 55 and LXD 75 mounts.
Put the dust cover on the corrector plate before you put the cover over it. Measure your setup in parking position and compare that with the dimensions of the cover. Let the telescope dry after a wet night before covering it. A Schmidt-Newton looks like a Newton in its construction, so our explanation about collimating is also useful here.
If the display remains outside all year long, compare it with T3-N8 from the 365 series.
