With a Schmidt-Newton, the viewfinder mirror is attached to the corrector plate, and the screws to align it are therefore close to the glass. With a screwdriver in the dark, you have to be careful. These adjustment screws for a 6-inch Schmidt-Newton replace the original screws with knobs from Bob’s Knobs that you twist by hand.
A Schmidt-Newton combines a corrector plate at the front with a Newton design. You will find this design between the catadioptric telescopes. This set is intended for 6 inch SNTs, so please check beforehand whether your telescope has that size and build.
Good collimation is important for sharp stars in a Newtonian design. Replace the screws one by one so that the finder mirror remains in place, and then check the alignment, for example with a Hotech laser collimator.
For a 10 inch Schmidt-Newton there is a Set for the 10 inch SNT.
