UV/IR blocking filter for sun warning and photography, 2 inch | DayStar

In a solar installation, ultraviolet and infrared light mainly provide extra heat that you don't need. This DayStar UV/IR filter (2 inch) blocks that light and allows the visible light to pass through. In an installation with an H-alpha filter like the Quark, it limits the amount of heat and unwanted light that reaches the filter.

The filter comes in a focuser or diagonal with 2 inch filter thread, so check that first. Similar filters are available from us. UV/IR-cut corrective filters.

Whether an UV/IR blocking filter for your telescope is sufficient, or whether you also need an energy rejection filter for the opening, depends on the opening and the type of telescope.
