A 6- or 8-inch Dobson is often kept in the shed, garage or back room, ready to be taken outside. Over time, dust accumulates there. With a cover over your 8-inch or 6-inch Dobson, like the TG-1D from Telegizmos, your mirror stays cleaner longer.

When you measure your Dobson in the stand in which you store it, usually with the tube upright, compare the height and width with the dimensions of the cover. Also, attach the dust cover to the front of the tube. After observing the telescope, let it cool and dry first, otherwise condensation will build up.
