The objective lens is the heart of a refractor and also the most vulnerable part. If you don’t want to protect the lens when you’re not observing, the TG-QC from Telegizmos is an objective lens cap for a 4-inch refractor that you place on the front. This keeps dust, dirt, and fingerprints away from the lens.
The cap is intended for Refracting telescopes of 4 inches and runs across the front of the tube or the mist cap.
Before ordering, measure the outer diameter of the front of your tube or dome cap and compare it with the size of the cap. Refractors of 4 inches vary in this respect depending merk on the model. Do not put the cap back on until the lens is dry. If dew appears after observing it, let it evaporate first. If the lens still needs cleaning, check the lens cap. cleaning and maintenance.
