In the winter, a faint smudge under Orion’s belt can be seen with the naked eye on a dark night. On a long-exposure photograph, it turns out to be a huge cloud of gas and dust in which new stars are forming. This poster of the Orion Nebula, also known as M42, shows that image in 50 x 75 cm.
The nebula is located at a distance of about 1300 light-years. At its heart are four young, bright stars that together form the Trapezium. With a telescope or one of the telescopes for beginners You can already see the nebula and the Trapezium clearly.
If the image is blurred by the telescope compared to the poster, that is normal. A camera collects much more light than your eye. Read also Why you sometimes see little. Check the poster before you buy a poster print.
You can also find the same nebula on The backpack with the Orion Nebula.
